Black Oak Brewery’s Jonathon Hodd hard at work

The Black Oak Newsletter Wants You to Get to Know
Jonathan Hodd, Assistant Brewer
Jon decided that it was brewing for him after his first batch of homebrew left him bruised and bloody, but wanting more. After studying music in college, he began working in beer at Bar Volo as a server, with a keen eye set on the small pilot system in their kitchen. Jon quickly transitioned from server to brewer for their house ales. After nagging Black Oak owner Ken Woods enough, he became assistant brewer where he does everything the other brew masters “don’t want to do”.
