Notice that the liquor license for Jack’s and Tabu bars on Richmond Row has been suspended for seven days appeared Monday. The two businesses share the same building at 539 Richmond Street, one occupying the main floor while the other operates as a dance club and event space in the lower level. The notice indicates that the popular nightspots are to stay closed from December 3rd to December 10, 2012.

No details have been revealed at this time, but the violation states that the suspension is a result of selling and serving an intoxicated person under Section 29 of the licensing regulations.

Elise Hawley (@e_hawley) was first to photograph and tweet the suspension notice today.

Indulge Magazine verified the suspension but received no answer to telephone calls to Jack’s and Tabu management to enquire about the details of the violation. With the end of the term at both Western and Fanshawe, the suspension comes at a regularly high income period for the location.
