Beer News In the Media — 26 October 2012

EnRoute checks in with brewers from coast-to-coast and discovers a scene hopping with innovation and exceptional flavours.

[Editor's Note: It is always great to see a national publication -- albeit an expensive in-house newsletter for Air Canada -- highlight what Canadian brewers are doing. Only a couple of these beers are available in Ontario and I have been fortunate to try most of them, but EnRoute is not really stretching their beer perspectives with this list of seven. For instance, Big Rock is one of the largest independent brewers in the country and Steam Whistle is well-known to most beer drinkers at this point. Regardless, it is great to get any additional publicity that encourages Canadian to try something other than the big international conglomerate brands. Personally, I strongly recommend any of Garrison's beers, especially the experimental and zingy Jalepeno Ale.]

Brewers highlighted in the EnRoute article:

Yukon Brewery (Whitehorse)
Driftwood Brewery (Victoria)
Big Rock Brewery (Calgary)
Half Pints Brewing Company (Winnipeg)
Steam Whistle (Toronto)
Garrison Brewery (Halifax)
Quidi Vidi Brewing Co. (St. John’s)
