(Toronto, ON) Steam Whistle Brewing, craft brewers of the Gold Medal Pilsner at this year’s Canadian Brewing Awards, are stocking shelves for the coming season with vintage-inspired holiday gift packs.

Craft beer has become the new favourite of foodies interested in buying all-natural beverages from upstanding local producers. In the LCBO’s 2011-12 annual report, Ontario craft beers led all product segments with almost 45% growth. “The sales performance of Ontario craft beers are all the more impressive given they are achieving growth on top of previous strong sales growth,” states LCBO President & CEO, Bob Peter.

Gift-giving, holiday parties and festive menus all call for craft beer and Steam Whistle’s seasonal packs are wrapped and ready for the holidays including festive graphics and a box-top gift tag. The holiday 6-pack ($13.25) and holiday 12-pack ($24.65) are now in-store at Ontario LCBO and Beer stores.

“Good beer is a meant to be shared with good food and good friends”, says Steam Whistle Brewmaster Marek Mikunda, “and the holiday season provides many opportunities for such celebration”.

Steam Whistle, an independent brewery housed in Toronto’s historic John St. Roundhouse, has a passionate focus of making just one beer of exceptional quality that Canadians can be proud of. A 2012 Gold Medal winner at the Canadian Brewing Awards, their refreshing Pilsner is crafted with traditional European brewing methods and only four, natural (GMO-free) ingredients under the watchful eye of their Czech Brewmaster.
